What is flx and how does it work?2018-06-11T11:44:39+00:00

Simply put, flx is a luxury shuttle service which picks you up from your front door, drops you off at the office and gets you back home again when your day is complete.

We offer an enjoyable shared-ride service where we take the hassle out of your daily commute and give you back your precious time – feel free to catch up on some work to please the boss or simply scroll through your favourite funny-cat videos on YouTube; whatever it is you choose to do with your free time, just know we’ve got your ride sorted.

How do I sign up for Allan Gray’s flx trial?2018-06-11T11:50:25+00:00

How will riding with flx save me money?2018-06-11T11:42:04+00:00

Breaking down the cost of transport to and from the office is always quite tricky but we believe we have the answer. Riding with a flx to the office and back home again could save you costs on:

  • Parking
  • Fuel
  • Vehicle Deprectiation
  • Monthly Vehicle Installments
  • Insurance
  • Wear & Tear

But what about the cost of time? We believe you can put a cost to the large amount of time you spend in traffic as well as the frustrations which come along with spending your life bumper to bumper on the roads – what’s that worth to you?

I drop my child at school, can he ride with me in a flx?2018-06-11T11:42:04+00:00

At this current point in time, the flx service is strictly only available to employees of the trial company and may not be open to others. Liability and operational concerns further limit your ride-sharing service to exclude children, school trips and anything else unrelated to your daily office commute.

Watch this space as flx continues to grow.

I work odd hours – how can you accommodate my times?2018-06-11T11:42:03+00:00

The flx schedule is determined purely based on the shifts supplied by your colleagues from within the areas they live. That means, if others start and finish at similar times to you – and their commute needs are the same as yours – we’ll be able to accommodate your schedule.

Can I use the service just two days a week, rather than committing to everyday, every week for a month?2018-06-11T11:42:03+00:00

Currently, within the trial stages, a flx requires consistent commitment from employees if it’s going to remain affordable for all Riders. This means you will have to commit to riding every day for a minimum period of one-week. Should you choose to cancel, you may do so at any time. However, should you wish to not ride on any particular day, your seat will simply go unused for that trip.

COMING SOON: The flx fly seat will give you the opportunity to offer your seat in the ride to another user if you can’t make it – making sure you’re compensated for any loss due to not attending work for any given reason.

What will flx cost me from home to work?2018-06-11T11:42:04+00:00

The flx model is based on a distance barometer which determines your cost from your front door to the office. Currently, the flx trial at Allan Gray costs R750.00 per week which makes it extremely attractive for anyone living about 20km away from the office.

Will flx just do a one-way trip?2018-06-11T11:42:03+00:00

At the moment, you can only become a flx Rider if you opt in for a return trip; however you don’t have to take both trips every day – although you are billed for it so if you’re coming in but not coming home, feel free to let a friend ride in your spot.

COMING SOON: The flx fly seat will give you the opportunity to offer your seat in the ride to another user if you can’t make it – making sure you’re compensated for any loss due to not attending work for any given reason.
